Here is Jupiter on the night of August 25th, 2022. Just about 1 month away from Opposition. The Seeing was about a 3.5-4 out 5. Jupiter’s max altitude was 50 degrees and this image was taken with frames from 40 degrees up to 50 degrees Altitude.
Equipment used:
Apertura AD12 12″ Dobsonian Telescope
iOptron CEM70
ZWO174mm
ZWO LRGB Filters & a 5-Position ZWO mini filter wheel.
Baader Q-Turret Barlow extended out for about 4x Magnification
Rigel nStep Auto Focuser.
Programs Used:
FireCapture: for the image capture
PIPP: to Center and Quality order the frames
AutoStakkert 3: to stack the individual channels of Red Green and Blue (RGB)
Registax 6: I used the Wavelets to bring out the details
WinJupos: I used 10 sets of 60-second exposures per Channel.
Photoshop: I used to combine the RGB channels and further Post Processing to get the Final image.
Each Channel Consisted of about 12,000 to 15000 Frames each and I stacked the best 12% of them in Auto Stakkert 3.
